Changes to Warranty Offering and Initial Payments

We are making some changes to our warranty and initial payments to improve our service offering.

 

 

Changes to Initial Payments

 

We are reducing the minimum initial payment towards a vehicle from £1,000 to £250 for vehicles priced up to £5,000. This payment will now be non-refundable in the event the buyer decides not to proceed with the sale or does not settle their balance by the agreed date. You will also now be able to make this payment in certain circumstances by debit card.

 

 

Changes to Vehicle Warranty

 

To improve our service offering and better protect our customers, we are making some changes to warranty on vehicles. As standard, all our vehicles unless meeting the exception criteria below, will include a minimum of 3 months of our Prestige warranty cover as standard with up to £1,500 coverage. The benefit to this cover is that it is provided on a non-profit basis for which we, Coopers of Hampshire, make a contribution to a reserve fund for each qualifying vehicle, which will be used to payout claims. You are able to benefit from our trusted repairer network, and the Prestige warranty has greater and more comprehensive coverage than national warranty providers. A repair is funded directly from the Prestige Warranty fund and therefore, there is no need to pay and claim back any expenses, unlike other warranties.

In addition to our new standard warranty offering, customers are able to purchase extended warranty cover with national coverage, claim limits up to £5,000 and terms of up to 3 years in addition, at discounts up to 70% off retail prices. See our warranty page. These prices are only available at point of sale, so we recommend customers purchase any extended warranties upfront.

We encourage our customers to consider which warranty product is best for them, and are on hand to explain any details. We recommend you purchase the warranty term and level of cover with the vehicle. We have negotiated special rates with warranty companies that are not available to buy elsewhere, and can offer warranty around 70% less than purchasing your own product or renewing when your warranty expires.
